Sally does not get visitors often
Nor does she really leave her home
And the more that her age has lengthened the more
The distance has grown between hearing from her family and friends
When asked by her son if she missed being young she replied
I can't even remember the day that I got old
But it hurts that I can not come and visit you all

In response he said don't worry mum
We're all coming to see you soon
By shit the kids have grown and
They are bloody stoked and
I hope you know we're all expecting pavlova cake too

With a relatively light heart
She gave a little laugh
And said I'll see what I can do
I might even dish up some sponge cake
If you could bring the veges that would be great
Until then, take care and send my love

The next day when Sally woke up
That sharp pain was back in her heart
So she sat her glasses down upon her Monday Herald Sun
And went and rested her head back in bed
She sensed it was the end
And though she'll never see them again
She smiled at the portrait of the wonderful family she had

And Sally died that morning
Her funeral is on Thursday
And they will drive for miles to see her now
